FLAME By: Maria Gonzales Robbestad, Daniel Hristov, Brinthan Pushparupan, Frederik Gøeg Bygholm, Liva Stubbe Teglbjærg. In this sculpture it is the mesmerizing almost hypnotic qualities of the element that we chose to focus on. With a minimalistic approach we have interpreted the form and colour of a single flame, like the single flame you see when you light a match.

Automated Blood Drawing Machine by: Tom Bue, Minh Pham, Katarzyna Piorska, Laura Reininger, Oliver Sich. The machines used when collecting donated blood are called automated blood drawing machines. It can be understood differently depending on the point of view either being medical or artistic. This coincident intrigued the group and strengthened the idea of creating a hybrid of art, sustainability and medicine in form of the installation.

Ghosts of a gone by era by Joëlle Dubé, Anne-Line Nykjær, Mads Lind and Nanna Klith. When going to the scrap yard we were drawn to this tremendous white mountain of DVD-cases. With our sculptural installation we are inviting the viewer to reflect upon the transformation from the analogue era to digitalism. What are we leaving behind when losing the tactility of DVD’s, books and CD’s? Are we losing anything apart from nostalgia?

Palle Dahlstedt is composer in Göteborg. Here is he doing the opening performance in the foyer at Atalante. He is using a new instrument dealing with electricity transported by the black lead sketched with an ordinary pencil.
VARIA is an international improvisation festival. It is arranged by Lisa Larsdotter Petersson who every year invites a broad variety of international artists to perform at Atalante. I create a 2D voltage field in the pencil marks on the paper with two movable electrodes. Then I tap various control voltages with other electrodes, which are fed into a large number of points in the Bugbrand Modular Synthesizer. All playing is done with these electrodes, which are made from stacks of old Swedish coins.
