This preparatory program
provides you with basic, introductory knowledge in pattern design, material, tools, machines and other techniques in the subject area. The program is intended for persons interested in working with the design process for accessories, clothing and utility goods in leather and fur, often in combination with textile materials, as well as colour and form. You will acquire an inquiring, problem-solving way of working, one where you complete assignments moving from concept to finished product in a creative, manner.

Ethics and aesthetics
The program aims at developing an ethical and aesthetic attitude for design and unique crafts. Work with ethically sustainable materials, with the Swedish animal protection legislation as base and respect for all living creatures as the core value, the program contributes to an appreciation of the economic safeguarding of available raw materials, as well as encouraging the use of biologically sustainable refinement processes.

The ambition is to offer a program that focuses on developing an attitude where as far as is possible, leather, skins and fur from Nordic sheep, reindeer, elk (moose) and cattle are used.

Digital techniques
The program also includes practice in using digital techniques for communication, presentation and image handling.
