The master’s programme has an international focus. Many of the students and teaching staff come from around the world. The official teaching language is Swedish, but it is always possible to hold supervision meetings in English and literature is available in both languages. Presentations are given preferably in English, with the subsequent discussion held in both Swedish and English. The governing documents will be translated into English. Lectures are given in English or Swedish - events and information outside the programme are usually in Swedish.

The work samples should prove evidence of your artistic and technical skills for chosen specializing through pictures, sketches, drawings and paintings.
Work samples requirements for the Master of Fine Arts programme in Applied Art and Design (Craft/Design).
With specializing in:
• Iron & Steel / Public Space
• Woodorientated Furniture Design
• Textile – Garment – Design.
1. Twenty (20) pictures of your latest work, with at least five (5) as sketches/drawings. The pictures can be printed and mounted on A3 (297 x 420 cm) board or sent as a CD / DVD as digital pictures. (NOTE! Do not place a label on the CD/DVD.) Write your name on all pictures and number them sequentially.
Regardless of the format chosen, include a table of content with the sequential numbers, the title, size, material and date when the work was completed.
2. In addition to the portfolio it is required a project description for planned artistic work and motivation for chosen education and specialization.

You can pick up your work samples at Steneby until September 21, 2012. After that all work samples will be disposed. Steneby is not responsible for any damage or loss of work samples.
Entrance requirements
Apart from artistic and fundamental working skills in the materials and techniques for the area you are applying for you need to have a BFA in Art, Craft or Design. Applicants with equivalent artistic education or suitable working experience may be given admission to the programme after evaluation. Applicants must also prove knowledge in English; you need to submit proficiency in English.

Selection
Selection is made based on the submitted material. The applicants will be assessed by an admission board. The assessment is equally based on your artistic as well as working skills. You may also by email be called to an interview or discussion.
Admission decision
In the beginning of June you will get a preliminary decision by email. In the middle of July you will get a decision from the Admission office.
Application and tuition fees
From the autumn term 2011 Swedish universities have introduced application and tuition fees for students from outside of EU/EEA and Switzerland.
